Junior Open Water Diver ages 10–14 (12 m for ages 10–11, 18 m for ages 12–14, diving with a dive professional or certified adult); automatic upgrade to Open Water Diver at 15 (18 m).

Open Water Diver is the globally recognized entry-level certification that qualifies divers to explore underwater with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 m (60 ft). This lifelong certification is valid worldwide and has three parts: academic study (typically online), confined water training, and at least four open water dives. For beginners aged 10+ (junior restrictions under 15), with a focus on comfort through repetition and personalized skill development.
